Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
This policy explains what VidQuire collects, how it’s used, how long it’s kept and your choices. The service is run by an independent developer, reachable at support@bitfroth.com.
1. What we collect
- Account: your email, name (if given) and a hashed password.
- Notes: generated results, your edits, and video titles and links.
- Videos you submit, to generate notes (see section 3).
- Usage: the video length and processing method for each generation, to track your minutes.
- Billing: subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Card details never reach us; we keep only your plan and subscription status.
- Technical data: access logs (IP address, browser type, request time) for security and troubleshooting, kept briefly.
2. Cookies and local storage
We use only essential cookies: your login session and language choice. Your browser caches your notes and running tasks so you can read offline and resume after a refresh; this is cleared when you log out.
We use cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall site traffic and performance. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. How videos are handled
- When you paste a link, the video is downloaded to our server temporarily and usually deleted within an hour.
- When you upload a video, the file is stored with us temporarily and deleted once the note is done; if it fails, it is kept for a day so you can retry.
- To write notes, the video is sent to Google’s Gemini API. We use the paid API and request deletion when processing ends; Google deletes the file within 48 hours at the latest.
- Free accounts don’t keep videos. For paid members, videos are saved to their storage automatically and kept for as long as they subscribe; you can delete them anytime from the account page. If you cancel or downgrade below what you’ve stored, you get a 30-day grace period with email reminders; after that the oldest videos are removed until you’re within the limit. Notes are not affected.
4. How we use information
Only to provide and improve the service, track usage, send account emails (confirming your email, resetting your password, storage reminders) and keep the service secure. We don’t sell your information, don’t train models on your notes or videos, and don’t send marketing email.
5. Sharing notes
Notes are private to you by default. You can create a share link for a single note. Anyone with the link can read the latest version of that note without logging in, including its title, text, and the original video’s title and link. Transcripts and your account details are never shared. Share pages embed official players only for YouTube, Bilibili, Douyin and TikTok sources; those platforms handle visitor data under their own privacy policies. Other sources retain the original video link without loading a platform player. Saved videos are not shared by default; only a video you uploaded yourself can be played on the share page, and only after you turn on “also share the video” for that note. Turning it off ends access immediately. Share pages ask search engines not to index them, but once you send a link we can’t control who it is passed on to. You can stop sharing at any time and the old link stops working immediately; deleting the note or your account does the same.
6. Service providers
We rely on these providers, who may process data only on our instructions:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and file storage;
- Google: video analysis (Gemini API);
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions;
- Resend: email delivery;
- A server we rent in the United States: downloading video links.
7. Where data is stored
Data is stored and processed mainly in the United States. By using the service you understand your information will be transferred outside your country or region.
8. How long we keep it
Your account, notes and saved videos are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting your account also deletes your notes, saved videos, usage and subscription records. Database backups are kept for up to 30 days, so deleted data may remain in backups during that time before being purged automatically.
9. Your rights
You can export all your notes, edit your details or delete your account from the account page at any time. To access, correct or delete other information, email support@bitfroth.com; we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re in the EU, UK or another region with data protection laws, you may also complain to your local authority.
10. Security
We use HTTPS, store passwords salted and hashed, and make your notes and videos accessible only to you, except notes you choose to share (see section 5). No system is perfectly secure.
11. Children
The service is not for children under 13. If we learn we’ve collected a child’s information, we’ll delete it.
12. Changes
When this policy changes we update the effective date above, and we’ll announce important changes by email or on the site.
